Mark Busse BA, MGDC, Partner / Design Director

Mark ensures the work we produce adheres to the highest professional and technical standards of design. Mark is also likely the first person you’ll meet (if you’re a potential client) as he’s in charge of business development.
Since co-founding Industrial Brand in 1997, Mark Busse has been successfully leading clients to their business objectives through brand communications and creative solutions. Busse is a certified graphic designer (CGD), recent past president of the BC Chapter of The Society of Graphic Designers of Canada (the national governing body of the Graphic Design industry in Canada) and co-chair of Icograda Design Week 2010 in Vancouver. Mark is also an active member of the Association of Professional Design Firms (APDF), ACM SIGGRAPH Vancouver and Digi BC.
A graduate of TWU’s School of Business and UBC’s Visual Arts Program, Mark has over 20 years of creative management experience having led identity and brand development, implementation and resulting marketing campaigns for both national and international clients.
Busse is a sessional instructor and faculty advisor for VFS’s Digital Design program, speaks regularly at local design programs, and serves as co-chair of Interesting Vancouver and Likemind Vancouver. He is also actively involved in his community, volunteering for a number of charitable organizations such as the fund raising committee of DOXA, the Vancouver Food Bank, the Compassion Project and serving on the Advisory Committee for Common Ground. He is also a passionate cook and food lover and co-founder of the popular food blog Foodists.ca. He lives with his wife Andrea and blind dog Charlie in the Commercial Drive area of East Vancouver.
