Industrial Brand recently welcomed two new members of its growing design team.

Mathilde Salvert was born and raised in France and graduated from the École Estienne in Paris, before completing her design studies at the London College of Printing, England. She made her first steps into the design industry as an intern for various busy studios in London and Amsterdam, including The Partners, Johnson Banks and Lava; there she fulfilled her curiosity for rigorous type and edgy conceptual design.
She then returned to Paris where she worked for major governmental and cultural clients. With a strong background in print design, identity and event design, she moved to Vancouver in 2008 and was part of the team at Identica before joining Industrial Brand.

Alex Leynes studied Sociology in university before training as a designer, recently graduating from Langara College’s Electronic Media Design program. Drawing inspiration from industrial design, architecture and music, Alex is firm believer in the power of a good concept. An illustrator at heart, he compliments this skill with his interest in information design, and typography. When designing, either for the web or for print, Alex strives for usability, clarity and thoughtfulness. Outside of his duties at Induastrial Brand, Alex serves as a volunteer executive for the BC Chapter of the Society of Graphic Designers, and is committed giving back to those who have helped him in the pursuit of his design career.

Welcome Mathilde and Alex! We’re looking forward to seeing your work and your contributions to this blog!

We’ve had quite a spat of designers falling down and breaking bones lately, but don’t get the wrong idea. Just because Kevin broke his elbow, or Leigh crushed her foot, we’re not going to let them off easy. On the contrary—Kevin is now quite good at mousing with his left hand and Leigh has found a way to get comfortable in front of her Mac (see above) so she can keep cranking out brilliant web designs. But serious gang, no more falling down!
