Looking back to my childhood memories, playing dodgeball was on of my favorite forgotten activities. Even the very first time I was asked out on a date at the tender age of 12 was during a dodgeball game. Oh Jordan… wonder where he is now.
Anyways, years after the movie DodgeBall: A True Underdog Story, starring Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughn, spurred a boom of adult leagues across the world. There are now hundreds of teams across BC participating in this underrated sport. I’m proud to say that I am a member and having the time of my life. Go Teabaggers!
The game itself is straightforward – each team consists of 6 individuals, 4 males 2 females. You eliminate the opposing team by throwing balls from your side of the court to theirs and making contact while also avoiding being hit. There are a few more rules involved and for those interested or want more information take a look at VDL (Vancouver Dodgeball League), I would love to see you there and have an opportunity to throw balls at you.
