Personally, when I see a little cow out in the field I don’t immediately think of veal, but now maybe I might. Today, I came across a site devoted to “depiction of animals that act as though they wish to be consumed” called Suicide Food. Until I started scrolling down the page, I hadn’t given this a lot of thought. Turns out BBQ competitions, and the food industry in general, is rife with this kind of visual language. Whether you think it’s clever, humourous or murderous, it’s worth a look. (via growabrain)

This would have been a great discussion piece for the Environmental Ethics class that i took while at Emily Carr.
It’s always really weirded me out to see on the side of a truck delivering meat some really happy animal smiling back at me.
