I agree 100% about transparency. As a virtual studio, Medium Rare has hurdles to overcome regarding perceptions, but those are OUR hurdles to overcome, and it would be wrong to mislead clients about the nature of our team. Clients may have very valid reasons for wanting a particular structure in place, and a client/vendor relationship is exactly that: a _relationship_. Relationships built on dishonest premises are not going to last, and are symptomatic of a mindset that is about making money first and building trust last.

While it may make some cash in the short run, I question the long term business acumen of a vendor who doesn't value that trust: well maintained long term relationships are found money year after year, while chasing down new business is costly and time consuming.

It's an uphill battle sometimes convincing clients that a virtual studio with a fair number of qualified, long term connections can get the job done. The thought that my "colleagues" would be competing against me using deceitful practices is sickening.
