I’ve rocked both a Canon A620 and Nikon D70S for about two years now and love them both like children from two different mothers however the Canon is a consumer camera and thus makes significant compromises. (sort of like the slightly “special” child from the mother that we don’t brag to our friends about)
Enter an open source firmware upgrade to the Canon Camera. Available to a selection of Canon consumer cameras this firmware upgrade unlocks a lot of features that the hardware, but not the default software, supports. Features such as support for RAW (yesssssssss…….), histograms, script execution and more. Something I’m going to check out this weekend for sure. Maybe it’s time to start braggin about that other mother again…
